ROMAN REPUBLIC, L. Caesius, as Triumvir Monetalis (moneyer), Silver Denarius (3.92g, 20mm), Rome mint 112-111 BC. Obv. Youthful, draped bust of Vejovis left, seen from behind, hurling thunderbolt, monogram to right. Rev. Two Lares seated right on rock, each holding a staff, dog stands right between them, head of Vulcan left and tongs above, monogram to right and left, "L· CAES" (AE ligate). Crawford 298/1; Sydenham 564. A few marks and adhesions, a bold type, good Very Fine / Very Fine.
