ROMAN REPUBLIC, P. Maenius M.f. Antiaticus, as Triumvir Monetalis (moneyer), Silver Denarius (3.97g, 18mm), Rome mint 132 BC. Obv. Head of Roma right, wearing winged Attic helmet, "X-" monogram (mark of value) to left. Rev. Victory, holding laurel wreath and reins, commands quadriga right, "P· MAE ANT" (MAE & ANT ligate) below, "ROMA" in exergue. Crawford 249/1; Sydenham 492. Deeply toned with a nice original cabinet grey patina, obverse visually charming, near Extremely Fine.
