ROMAN REPUBLIC, Anonymous Coinage period, Silver Quinarius or Half Denarius (1.78g, 16mm), Rome mint after 211 BC. Obv. Head of Roma right, wearing winged Attic helmet, mark of value "V" to left. Rev. The Dioscuri, Castor and Pollux, on horseback right, both armed with spear pointed forward and surmounted by star, "ROMA" in linear frame below. Crawford 44/6; Sydenham 169. Some reverse horn silver, not detracting from the visual appeal, a noteworthy grade, good Very Fine.
