MAGNA GRAECIA, Calabria, Tarentum, under Roman Republic rule, Silver Nomos (6.21g, 19mm), circa 272-235 BC. Obv. Nude youth on horseback advancing right, placing wreath on horse's head, "AΓAΘAΡCOΣ" below. Rev. Taras atop dolphin left, holding kantharos aloft in right hand and resting cornucopia in left arm, torch to right. SNG ANS 1179; Vlasto 852ff. A little soft in strike on obverse, the reverse well struck on the other hand, well centred each side and toned, nice example, Very Fine.
