Born in Leicester, England in 1898, Pederson trained at Manchester College of Art before arriving in Australia in the early decades of the 20th century. She was a founding member of Brisbane's Half Dozen Group of Artists and was its honorary secretary for 31 years. Adept at many mediums, Pedersen's arts practice was highly interdisciplinary and ranged from painting in oil and watercolour, to manuscript illumination, weaving, embroidery and jewellery making. Pedersen's work is held by Queensland Art Gallery (QAGOMA) and in numerous private collections.
