Synthetic polymer paint on paper, 56 x 76cm (image), 67.5 x 87cm (frame), signed and bears artist's name and Mangkaja Arts catalogue number WP601/92 on artwork reverse. Available for local pickup, otherwise courier to be arranged and paid for by bidder. Ex - Sotheby's (Aboriginal and Oceanic Art, November 2007, lot 65). Provenance: Painted at Fitzroy Crossing for Mangkaja Artists Resource Agency in 1992; Contemporary Australian Visions, Melbourne; private collection. Janangoo Butcher Cherel, is recognised as one of the Kimberley region's most distinguished artists. Ranked highly among the most collectable artists in Australia by Australian Art Collector, he was declared a 'State Living Treasure' by the Government of Western Australia in 2004.
