Rare engraving showing assorted views of Hawaii as seen during Captain James Cook's third and final voyage, undated (c.1784), 24 x 39cm (paper), 21 x 36cm (image), some folds and small tears along edges, yellowing and a few light foxing spots. Titled at bottom 'Views of SANDWICH ISLANDS'.
Includes a variety of coastal profile illustrations of the Hawaiian Islands, where Cook�arrived on November 26th, 1778:
1. View of the N.E. part of Mowee when the Isthmus bears W.S.W. 4 miles off shore.�
2. View of the S.E. side of Owhyhee when the East Point bears N. b. W. 4 leas. distant.
3. View from the (anchor symbol) at Atooi.
4. View from the (anchor symbol) at Woahoo.
