Dr. Anneke Silver is a prominent and well established Queensland artist with more than 30 solo shows, and countless group, invitation and touring shows, to her name in Australia as well as America, Europe and Fiji.

Anneke (pronounced 'arnica') has painted for as long as she can remember, but received formal art training in Amsterdam (she was born in the Netherlands) and Brisbane, gaining her PhD in Creative Arts at James Cook University in North Queensland where she was an Associate Professor lecturing in painting, drawing and the history/theory of art. She has been given studio residencies in Hill End (NSW), Alayrac in France, and Maine in the USA.

Her work is widely represented in collections such as The National Gallery of Australia, Queensland Art Gallery, Parliament House Queensland, Artbank, Art Space Mackay, regional galleries in Cairns, Bathurst, Bundaberg, Port Macquarie and Townsville, in addition to Kedumba Australian Drawing Collection and the Brisbane City Hall Collection, plus various private and corporate collections in Australia, Europe and USA. She has also created numerous public art works in Queensland, and was the subject of a publication by Craftsman House (1995).
