Description
Framed painting entitled Felicity ('Flick') by Robert Henry Dickerson (1924 - 2015). Dickerson was one of Australia's best -known & most recognised figurative artists. He was self taught, with no formal training, who executed in a range of materials including paint, pastels, charcoals & other graphic. He is at his best as a painter of people, with his works known for their haunting human quality & in all situations and walks of life. Robert Dickerson was a founding member of The Antipodeans art movement. His first significant exhibition was at the Museum of Modern Art, Melbourne 1956, followed by many other exhibitions within Australia, U.K. & U.S.A. Awarded an officer in the general division of the Order of Australia in recognition of his contributions to art and philanthropy in 2013.
