1956 French Exhibition Melbourne, 'La Perouse' bronze medal (Car.1956/10), 67mm. The Sydney suburb of La Perouse was named after Captain Jean-Francois la Perouse who landed on Botany Bay in 1788, before sailing to the New Hebrides where his ship was wrecked. Attractive patina, scare, unc in original case.
